In the midst of work and co-parenting, Joel McCooey is a design aficionado.

He creates and shares beautiful (and relatable) content on his Instagram account @designbecomeshim. The Vancouver townhouse he shares with his husband Brenddan and their daughter Frankie is a regular backdrop for his photos and videos of all things DIY styling and design. Here he shares with us his approach for bedroom styling.

It’s no secret that I love a cozy bedroom, especially in the colder months. Comfortable sheets layered with warm blankets and TONS of pillows is what dreams are made of. Our bedrooms should be an oasis where we can go to rest after a long day. Guest bedrooms included! 

With the holidays fast approaching, Brenddan and I are going to be hosting out-of-town guests. It’s really important to me that their bedroom is as cozy and comfortable as if it was their own. I like to add personal touches, but it all starts with the bedding!

I want something that is comfortable, with a bit of texture. The White Shur Linen Duvet Cover and matching Pillowcase Set are just that. They are a French linen and cotton blend, and ensure a cozy nights’ rest.
